Is 1440p good for League of Legends?
Yes, 1440p is a good resolution for League of Legends. It provides a sharper and more detailed image than 1080p, making it easier to see enemies and other essential details in-game.
League of Legends’ aspect ratio of 1440p for gaming also provides a wider field of view, which can help you spot enemies in the jungle and give you more time to react. Other benefits of 1440p include:

What is the best resolution for League of Legends?
Are you aware that many pros play using a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080? But does that automatically mean that you should use that resolution? What about larger screens?
Choices range between 1080p, 1440p, or any other non-complicated resolution. However, it is more of a personal preference. League of Legends can even run on older PCs without any issues. Thus, we recommend a 1920 x 1080 resolution to play League of Legends.
However, there’s no point playing on 1920 x 1080 when you don’t find the experience enjoyable. Hence, we advise that you go for one you are comfortable with.
A 2560 x 1440 is an excellent resolution if you prefer having your view from a bigger perspective. If your monitor is about 24″ or larger, then you most likely have a resolution of 2560 x 1440 by default. The only challenge, however, is focus; since the view will look further apart.

1. A more common way
- Firstly, open the game to have access to the menu.
- Then, select Options, and move to Video.
- Once you are there, click on Resolution and select the one you desire.
- You can also adjust the Windows Mode settings via the drop-list as you so please.
- Afterward, press OK.
2. A more uncommon way
- Firstly, launch the League of Legends folder on your PC. The location below is usually the default location:
C:\Riot Games\League of Legends
- When the folder opens, click the Configuration folder to open it.
- Then, you will find the game.cfg file. Right-click on it and open it with Notepad.
- Once Notepad opens, find the desired settings: height and width.
- When you find them, the numbers equal to the current in-game resolution will be written next to it.
- Change the values for each to the desired resolution. For example:
width = 1920
height = 1080 - Then, save the file.
Please, be careful not to be hasty because of how easy you may now perceive it to be. It can be quite tricky, and you can mess things up. It is essential that you keep in mind that your change should be based on your monitor specifications.
Remember that it is better to keep your resolution as high as 1440p when playing League of Legends, provided your computer specifications allow it. As explained in the guide, the standard way of changing League Resolution is the easiest way, and we recommend you use it.
To use the second method with the configuration folder and the game file, ensure you follow our instructions and have a backup before proceeding.
